I just read an article of a lady that just left the courthouse on a DUI charge and hit a girl on the sidewalk on the way home. She was later charged with DUI again, not because of drinking, but drugs. She needs a really good DUI attorney.
Why is Driving while under the influence such a problem in Colorado Springs? What can be done to solve this problem? Is is being caused by repeat offenders like the lady above. These opinions are my own, but could help solve the problem.
1. Mandate bars to give free drunk tests for their customers. Make sure they know that their blood alcohol level is above the state limit.
2. Provide free transportation at bars. Tax the drinks enough to pay for this service. It will put more cash in the economy and provide jobs.
3. After 1 offense, install a Breathalyzer into their cars that won't let them start if they fail. This should keep repeat offenders out of jail.
Of coarse there is the other problem of people being falsely accused of DUI. Make sure you have a good DUI attorney even if you are guilty. Everyone deserves proper representation.
